Equipment construction

The hydrocyclone is composed of a cyclone cylinder, a feeding device, a separation device, an underflow device, an overflow device, a swirl tube (a dozen to hundreds) and an O-ring, etc. The plate is separated into three chambers for feed, overflow and underflow, which are sealed by O-rings. Hydrocyclone station is used to remove fiber, protein and cell fluid out of cassava starch milk to concentrate and delicate scrubbing starch milk. Usually, full cyclone separation system includes concentrating, recovering and washing.

Working principle

Hydrocyclone mainly uses the different centrifugal force, centripetal buoyancy and fluid drag force generated by the particle size difference between coarse particles and fine particles to achieve the purpose of separation and classification. After the cassava starch milk enters the inlet of the hydrocyclone, it will enter the interior along the tangential direction and rotate at high speed. Under the action of centrifugal force, the fine and small fiber particles are concentrated in the center of the axis of the cyclone due to the small centrifugal force. The flow moves upward and is discharged from the upper overflow port. The starch granules with larger particle size are thrown to the inner wall of the cyclone due to the large centrifugal force. At the same time, under the action of gravity, they move downward with the external swirling flow and are discharged at the bottom underflow port, so as to remove impurities and improve starch purity.

Equipment configuration

Hydrocyclone station is composed of multiple hydrocyclones. The cassava starch milk is processed by multi-stage cyclones, and the obtained finished starch has high purity. Common hydrocyclone station have twelve, sixteen, and eighteen stages. The higher the stage, the better the purification effect.
