What are the differences between a cassava hydraulic press and a plate-frame filter press?

Cassava hydraulic press and plate-frame press are two types of machines used in the cassava processing industry. Both of these machines use hydraulic systems to generate pressure, but they differ significantly in terms of design, function, and application.

Cassava hydraulic press is a machine that is primarily used for squeezing cassava pulp to make garri. The cassava pulp is fed into a hydraulic cylinder, where it is compressed using hydraulic pressure. The cassava hydraulic press typically has a single ram and piston that generate force to squeeze the pulp.

On the other hand, plate-frame press is another type of press that is commonly used for cassava dewatering. These machines consist of a series of filter plates that are arranged in a frame and held together with a hydraulic cylinder. When the cassava slurry is fed into the plates, the filter cloths allow the liquid to pass through while retaining the solids. Hydraulic pressure is then applied to the plates to squeeze out the remaining liquid, resulting in a relatively dry cassava cake.

One major difference between cassava hydraulic press and plate-frame press is their application. Cassava hydraulic press is primarily used for garri production, while plate-frame press is used in cassava flour and starch production for dewatering cassava cake and other solid materials.
